Academic continuing education at the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam - practical, versatile, future-orientated

The Centre for Further and Continuing Education (ZEW) has been the address for academic continuing education at the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam for 30 years. It combines academic quality with practical realisation - reliable, professional and future-oriented.

Academic training with substance - for people in practice

In addition to its undergraduate degree programmes, University of Applied Sciences Potsdam offers a diverse programme of academic continuing education. Today more than ever, lifelong learning is a key success factor for professional development, social participation and personal orientation.

Our continuing education programme is aimed at people at different stages of their lives and careers. Whether individual courses, certificate programmes or tailor-made qualifications - participants expand their professional and methodological skills and strengthen their professional repertoire.

The programmes are designed by experienced lecturers from the university's departments - application-oriented, scientifically sound and with their finger on the pulse of current challenges in society, education, culture, design, technology and management. We also work closely with experts from the field in order to combine in-depth knowledge with real-life requirements and experience from everyday working life.

The Centre for Further and Continuing Education (ZEW) was founded in 1995 and has stood for continuous, professional support in the field of academic continuing education for over 30 years. As the central institution of the university, it coordinates the organisation - from development and marketing to implementation and administration.

ZEW is organised as a non-profit commercial enterprise. Its structure follows a clear principle: decentralised professional responsibility - centralised organisation. In this way, we combine scientific excellence with efficient implementation - and create space for new perspectives and sustainable learning processes.

ZEW Advisory Board - interdisciplinary, strategic, networked

In accordance with the ZEW statutes, the departments of the UAS Potsdam each delegate one person to the Advisory Board of the Centre for Continuing Education (ZEW). This committee is responsible for the co-design, strategic development, profile building and quality assurance of academic continuing education.

The Advisory Board acts as an interdisciplinary advisory body: it promotes a continuous interdisciplinary work process and strengthens the exchange between departments, study programmes, teaching staff and ZEW. At the same time, it initiates and supports co-operations with internal and external partner institutions.

As multipliers and supporters, the members of the Advisory Board contribute to the visibility of continuing education - both within and outside the university.

The members of the advisory board are made up of one representative from each of the faculties at Potsdam University of Applied Sciences. They have specialist expertise in the field of academic continuing education and actively contribute the perspectives of their respective disciplines to the strategic development of ZEW.
