Declaration on accessibility

The University of Applied Sciences Potsdam endeavours to make its website and mobile applications accessible. The declaration on digital accessibility is required by the Brandenburg Act on Equal Opportunities for Persons with Disabilities (BgbBGG) and the Brandenburg Ordinance on the Creation of Barrier-free Information Technology (BgbBITV). The technical requirements for accessibility are set out in BITV 2.0. This declaration on digital accessibility applies to the website www.fh-potsdam.de.

    1. Description: The range of documents available for download is extensive. Many documents lack a readable document structure and a table of contents.
    2. Measures: The documents are continuously revised and existing barriers are removed.
    3. Schedule: In the fourth quarter of 2023, all documents should be accessible if possible.
    4. Accessible alternative: As there is currently no alternative for documents that are not readable, we recommend contacting the person responsible for the content to obtain any missing information.
  2. Audio files
    1. Description: There is currently no transcription available for audio files.
    2. Measures: The audio files will be continuously revised and existing barriers removed.
    3. Schedule: All audio files should be accessible in the fourth quarter of 2023.
    4. Accessible alternative: As there is currently no alternative for transcriptionless audio files, we recommend contacting the person responsible for the content to obtain any missing information.
  3. Video files
    1. Description: The full addition of video files with subtitles and audio description is pending.
    2. Measures: The video files will be continuously revised and existing barriers removed.
    3. Schedule: All video files should be accessible in the fourth quarter of 2023.
    4. Accessible alternative: As there is currently no alternative for subtitles and audio description for video files, we recommend contacting the people responsible for the content to obtain any missing information.

Contact the state representative for digital accessibility

If If you do not receive a satisfactory response, or any response, from the above contact option within three weeks, you can contact the Enforcement Centre for Digital Accessibility of the State of Brandenburg to verify the information and measures specified in the accessibility declaration. According to Section 4(3) of the Brandenburg Accessability Information Technology Ordinance (BbgBITV), the Enforcement Centre is responsible for enforcing citizens' right to accessible websites and mobile applications provided by public bodies in the State of Brandenburg. It checks whether an enforcement procedure is applicable from a formal and content-related perspective, and in individual cases it orders a technical review of the website or mobile application by the Monitoring Centre for Accessibility of Web and Application Technologies in the State of Brandenburg. The enforcement procedure is free of charge. No legal assistance is required.
