The Opposite of Fear is Courage – Photography as a Tool
Under the direction of Wiebke Loeper, students from the Department of Design presented their photographic work as part of the exhibition "The opposite of fear is courage" at the Kulturhaus Wittenberge in November 2024.
As part of the exhibition "The opposite of fear is courage", students from the Department of Design at the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam, under the direction of Professor Wiebke Loeper, presented their photographic work in Wittenberge, Brandenburg. The exhibition opened on the 29th of October 2024 and was on display at the Kulturhaus Wittenberge until the 12th of November 2024.
The works on display were dedicated to the multi-layered theme of fear and overcoming it. They reflect personal stories and experiences and invite us to reflect on challenges and transformations. The students' photographs, which capture both intimate insights and universal emotions, create a space for reflection and exchange.
"The exhibition is intended to encourage us to talk about our fears and show us how we can draw strength from them," emphasised Professor Loeper at the opening. "Art is a powerful means of connecting us with each other and breaking down taboos."
After its stop in Wittenberge, the exhibition will be shown as a travelling exhibition at other locations in Brandenburg and beyond. The aim is to reach an even wider audience and promote a dialogue on the topics of fear and courage.
