New Anthology offers current Perspectives on Ddigitalisation and Artificial Intelligence in Social Work

The digital transformation is also shaping social work and raises the question of how professionals and institutions can deal with the technological challenges of digitalisation and artificial intelligence. Answers to these questions can be found in the anthology "#GesellschaftBilden im Digitalzeitalter: Perspektiven Sozialer Arbeit auf technologische Herausforderungen", recently published by Waxmann Verlag and edited by Dr Julius Sp?te, Prof. Dr Daniela Cornelia Stix, Prof. Dr Cordula Endter and Prof. Dr Karsten Krauskopf.

The book was created as part of the project of the same name, which was funded by the Innovation Fund of the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam from 2023 to 2024. The project developed into the Digitalisation Research Network North-East, a cooperation between the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam, the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg, the Catholic University of Applied Sciences Berlin and the Centre for Constructive Educational Science.

The aim of the network is to promote academic and practical discourse on digitalisation in social work and has reached another milestone in cross-institutional cooperation with this anthology:

"The technological possibilities of digitalisation and the associated changes in our everyday culture bring both challenges and opportunities for social work. With this anthology, we have brought together new perspectives from research and practice and want to actively shape the current discourse," say the editors.

In terms of content, the book brings together works by researchers and practitioners from German-speaking countries and offers impulses for the professionalisation and further development of social work in the digital age.

The anthology is aimed at professionals, students, academics and decision-makers in social work and invites further discussion of digitalisation and AI in the social sector.
