Brandenburg Women's Weeks 2023: The Iranian Film "Ta farda - Until Tomorrow" at the Filmmuseum Potsdam
The Equality Diversity and Inclusion Offices of the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam and the Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF as well as the Coordination Office for Equal Opportunities of the University of Potsdam invite you to the Film Museum Potsdam on the 15th of March 2023 at 6.00 pm as part of the 33rd Brandenburg Women's Weeks.
The film "Ta farda – Until Tomorrow" by director Ali Asgari (Iran/France/Qatar 2022, 86′, original version with English subtitles) will be shown. Fereshteh has dropped out of university and dreams of going abroad. She lives with her baby in a block of flats in Tehran. No one is allowed to find out about her illegitimate, secretly born child – especially not her own parents, who unexpectedly announce they are coming to visit her. Together with her courageous friend Atefeh, the young woman sets off on an odyssey through Tehran to temporarily hide the baby. Ta farda exposes the patriarchal structures in Iran and also points to the omnipresent power imbalances and universal sexism.
Afterwards, Anahita Safarnejad (Kollektiv Feminista Berlin), Sanaz Azimipour (Women* Life Freedom Collective Berlin) and Yasaman Ahmadi (Filmuniversit?t Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF) will talk about the film. The event will be moderated by Susanne Foidl, Equal Opportunities Officer at the Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF.
The Brandenburg Women's Weeks are a unique political format throughout Germany. More than 200 events are organised by very different initiatives throughout Brandenburg.
