Multimedia lab project
The multimedia laboratory offers advice on and loans media technology for digital teaching, technical support for online examinations and assistance with the design and implementation of audiovisual media.

Digital formats have fundamentally changed the requirements for teaching and knowledge transfer. Media technology plays a central role here, as it supports didactic processes, facilitates access to knowledge and enables new forms of interaction. Particularly in the context of university teaching, media technology offers decisive potential for presenting and communicating complex teaching content in a comprehensible way, making it flexibly available and designing it sustainably.
In order to make these possibilities systematically accessible, targeted promotion, coordination and further development of media technology offerings is necessary. At the Potsdam University of Applied Sciences, these potentials are being specifically tapped and further developed through the multimedia laboratory project. The aim is to create space for the testing and further development of digital formats and thus provide new impetus for media-supported university teaching. In this way, the practical, technically sound implementation of digital teaching and learning formats is promoted in the long term.
As a cross-departmental service, the multimedia lab offers a comprehensive range of services for media technology support for digital teaching and examination formats. Teachers and students from all departments have the opportunity to borrow modern media technology, receive advice on the selection and use of media technology and realise audiovisual projects with the support of the team in the multimedia lab. Powerful hardware and software such as laptops (MacOS and Windows), professional image and sound editing programmes, Apple Vision glasses as well as camera, sound and lighting technology are available. In addition, the multimedia laboratory supports the departments in the technical preparation and implementation of online examinations, including the provision of equipment, on-site support and maintenance of the associated infrastructure.
With its interdisciplinary structure, high design standards and openness to digital innovations, Potsdam University of Applied Sciences offers ideal conditions for the project. The close cooperation with the departments enables customised solutions for different teaching contexts. The result is a practical, sustainable contribution to the further development of digital teaching at the university.
