Science Slam in der Pr?senzstelle Luckenwalde ? Pr?senzstelle Luckenwalde

The Science Slam is about presenting scientific topics in a creative, understandable and entertaining way in a short space of time. Within ten minutes, the participants bring their research topic closer to the audience - not with PowerPoint karaoke, but eloquently with passion, humour and originality. Whether with props, anecdotes or experiments: The aim is to arouse curiosity and bring knowledge to life. At the end, the audience decides which slam was the most convincing.

Strong FHP participation in Luckenwalde
Two FHP slammers and an alumna provide a varied programme on 23 May:

  • Prof Rolf Socher, Visiting Professor of Engineering Mathematics and Construction Informatics at the FHP, will once again inspire audiences with his mathematical precision and entertaining presentation of construction informatics following his celebrated appearance two years ago.
  • Dr Ramiro Glauer, research assistant in the Department of Social and Educational Sciences, brings current issues relating to the use of digital media by young children to the stage - with a critical eye but also imaginative suggestions for pedagogically valuable practices - in an everyday and inspiring way.
  • Tina Dreisicke, who now works freelance, studied European Media Studies at the FHP and explains why lifelong learning and change are sometimes difficult for us - with an exciting look at the brain and neuroplasticity.

Prof Dr Eva Schmitt-Rodermund, President of the Potsdam University of Applied Sciences: "It's great to see how our scientists bring research to where it has an impact - right in the heart of the region, right among the people. At the Science Slam in Luckenwalde, they show that science doesn't have to be dry or detached, but can be exciting, relevant to everyday life and really entertaining."

Luckenwalde Science Centre - Science for the Region
The Luckenwalde Science Centre is one of nine contact points for Brandenburg's universities. As an interface between science, education, business and society, it offers counselling for prospective students, promotes cooperation with companies and brings current research to the region. Events such as the Science Slam are part of this - this is where science becomes visible, accessible and relevant to everyday life.
The Science Slam is being jointly organised by the Brandenburg contact points for the fourth time. Between April and June 2025, seven events will take place in various cities - from Schwedt to Spremberg. Admission is free and fun is guaranteed everywhere.
