Workshop series - Using knowledge systematically

Knowledge is one of the most important resources of modern organisations. Nevertheless, the question of how knowledge and experience can be systematically utilised, secured and further developed often remains unanswered. The University of Applied Sciences Potsdam is planning a multi-part series of workshops on knowledge management to provide targeted support for specialists and managers.

Workshop profile

The event series "Using knowledge systematically" at the University of Applied Sciences conveys practical approaches and current research results in knowledge management. Knowledge management deals with the question of how knowledge can be developed, secured, shared and used in organisations. The aim is to make experience and knowledge systematically available, enable well-founded decisions and sustainably strengthen the performance of organisations.

The workshop is designed and led by Prof Dr Peter Heisig, Vice President for Research and Transfer at Potsdam University of Applied Sciences. With over 35 years of international experience and numerous publications, he is one of the leading experts in knowledge management in Germany. In his professional career, he has successfully supported companies such as BOSCH, Henkel, Siemens and Volkswagen as well as organisations such as Deutsche Flugsicherung, the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft and the NRW Ministry of the Interior in the development and implementation of knowledge management.

'Many organisations invest in knowledge management without systematically considering the design of the framework conditions. Often, the focus is placed too heavily on one or two instruments, without clearly recognising their limitations or integrating them into an overall system. This is precisely where we start in the workshop series. Together, we analyse real challenges, develop concrete solutions, and reflect on their feasibility and suitability in the respective context. This creates new knowledge and the ability to effectively anchor it in your own organisation."
