"Meet Me Halfway": Exhibition as Part of the European Month of Photography

With "Meet Me Halfway", the EMOP Special Young Scene is launching a format for the second time as part of the European Month of Photography Berlin that gives young photographers a voice and a place. Following the success of the joint exhibition "Dr?ngende Gegenwart – Der Blick der jungen Generation" as part of EMOP Berlin 2023, six educational institutions from Berlin and Potsdam are once again presenting outstanding photographic works by their students and graduates.
The Lette Verein Berlin, the Ostkreuzschule für Fotografie, the University of Europe for Applied Sciences, the HTW Berlin (Hochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft), the International Photography School and the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam are all taking part. The exhibition can be seen from 2 to 23 March 2025 at Leipziger Stra?e 56 in Berlin. The vernissage will take place on 1 March 2025 at 6 pm.
Following on from the EMOP Berlin 2025 leitmotif, what stands between us, the young scene was invited to develop and submit works that deal with topics of social and socio-political relevance in the face of a present permeated by diverse conflicts. This generation of young artists is particularly affected by the upheavals and existential crises of our time. As curator, Marie-Luise Mayer was invited to design an exhibition with her own focus from the 36 submissions. The result is the project Meet Me Halfway.
The University of Applied Sciences Potsdam is represented by the works of Saskia Darija Gettel, Marie Gutierrez Oliva, Julia Krasnoperova and Samira Rehmert from the Department of Design.
