Is your City built for you?
Based on an elective course at the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam, the student collective perspektiv;wechsel, in cooperation with the urban.policy office, investigated various situations in Berlin and presented its solutions in an exhibition on gender-equitable urban planning.
The starting point for the exhibition was an elective course on gender-equitable urban planning by Dr Mary Dellenbaugh-Losse (urban.policy) at the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam. As part of the exhibition, the student collective perspektiv;wechsel poses the question of how people from different walks of life experience cities and to what extent our socialisation shapes urban planning and its experience. Using case studies in Berlin, the exhibition highlights problems in the areas of accessibility, safety perception and user-friendliness and looks for solutions to design cities for everyone .
