Potsdam University of Applied Sciences ends communication on X
Potsdam University of Applied Sciences has discontinued its presence on the social media platform X, formerly Twitter. In future, the university will increasingly rely on alternative platforms and is continuously reviewing other channels that match its values and communication mission.
The University of Applied Sciences has been monitoring developments on X critically for some time. Changes on the platform are increasingly at odds with the principles of the university, which is committed to democracy, diversity and respectful dialogue.
"As an educational institution, we want to promote spaces that enable dialogue at eye level and respectful interaction. These values also guide us in our choice of communication channels," emphasised Prof. Dr Eva Schmitt-Rodermund, President of Potsdam University of Applied Sciences. "The decision to delete our Twitter account was a conscious move. Social networks must remain spaces for respectful dialogue and openness. X, as it is currently developing, is no longer the platform that fulfils this."
