On the 4^th of June 2025, the premiere of the multi-award-winning documentary "Im Prinzip Familie" will take place at the Thalia-Kino Potsdam.

"Im Prinzip Familie" is a German documentary film that sheds light on the work of educators in a residential group for children. The film provides an intimate insight into the everyday life of child and youth welfare and shows how professionals offer the children in their care a sense of security and support.

The University of Applied Sciences Potsdam will be represented at the event by educational expert Prof Dr Alexandra Schmidt-Wenzel, who will open the event together with director Daniel Abma. The film follows the life and work of an intensive educational residential group in Brandenburg and addresses key issues relating to child protection, relationship work and educational responsibility. Prof Dr Alexandra Schmidt-Wenzel is an expert in the Department of Social and Educational Sciences at the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam. With her many years of experience in social work, she brings well-founded perspectives to the discussion. She was already part of the scientific brain trust for the film beforehand. Together with director Daniel Abma, she will moderate the event and will be available for questions and discussions afterwards.
