Unit 1: Financial planning

• systematic overview of the necessary financial management and information instruments of a social organisation
• in-depth understanding of the functioning of financial management and information instruments, how they relate to each other, what effects they have on the social organisation and what information they can provide for the performance level
• ability to use these systematically for management and leadership decisions

Unit 2: Balance sheet analysis

• in-depth knowledge of balance sheet analysis as a basis for the formation of key figures and their interpretation. Ability to independently form key figures and use them systematically in the context of financial controlling
• ability to prepare meetings with banks based on the banks' ranking characteristics

Unit 3: Controlling

• operational vs. strategic controlling. Operational controlling instruments such as annual financial statement analysis, budgeting, plan adjustment instruments (e.g. rolling planning), KLR, contribution margin accounting, target costing, financial plan, reporting, planned cash flow statements, planned balance sheet / income statement
• strategic controlling tools such as portfolio analysis, Ansoff matrix, strengths/weaknesses analysis, SWOT analysis, gap analysis, product life cycle, value chain, Porter's five forces, balance score card
• ability to apply the various instruments to one's own social organisation and to use them as analysis and problem-solving tools
