Online Event "Copyright and Social Media" organised by the Brandenburg State Centre for Archives and Public Libraries
On the 7th of May 2025, Dr Harald Müller accompanied an online event with the State Office for Archives and Public Libraries on the topic of "Copyright and Social Media". The target group included colleagues in both archives and libraries in Brandenburg.
Dr Müller explained the basics of copyright law. He vividly presented the possibilities that libraries and archives have in their respective work and at the same time sensitised them to the restrictions imposed by copyright law. The colleagues learnt, for example, to what extent they can integrate media into their event work and when they need to obtain permission to do so. The speaker also explained the copyright regulations in the area of social media.
